Personality

Showman · Selfless · Naive · Caring · Obedient

Angel is an strange soul, and difficult to read. He loves to play pranks on people and tell elaborate jokes, especially in the face of stressful or bleak situations. His comedy comes with a completely straight face, indistinguishable from his normal statements of fact.

His mannerisms, as described by his closest friends, could be that of a protagonist, or perhaps silly jester character in a faerie tale for children. Angel is very animated when he speaks, tells stories, and performs. He loves coming up with new and exciting avenues of entertainment for young children, and is delighted by their joy and laughter.

Despite his talent and love of performing, Angel doesn’t think very highly of himself. Instead, raises up his troupe-mates, often by boastfully deflecting compliments meant for him onto them. He loves being pampered and dressed in lavish costumes, especially for the purpose of a themed circus performance.

Although generally outgoing, Angel comes across as guarded and dismissively independent to many who meet him–a strange contrast to his showman aura. Angel is genuine to the point of bluntness. He is very affectionate around his friends, family, peers, and the people he admires. Angel trusts people relatively easily if he is shown kindness, but tends to be skeptical of specific pieces of information he hears, often based solely on his own strange perspective on life.

Origins

Kiht’a: The Snow-Colored Miqo’te

23 winters ago, Kiht jen Levin bore triplet children into the dwindling Levin tribe, a band of miqo’te native to the furthest tundras of Garlemald. Of the children, two were identical sons Kiht’a and Kiht’to, and the third, a daughter named Kihs.

Levins, known for their white hair and fur are said to be gifted with such a pigment for advantageous hunting in their historically desolate domain. The three children of Kiht bore not only the physical resemblance to their peers, but the instinctive drive to hunt–and the stubborn will to survive.

In modern times, the Levins, on shaky terms with pure-blooded Garleans slowly encroaching on their territory, typically work as magitek engineers within the nation’s rising military.

It was apparent from a young age that Kiht’a was gifted in the manipulation of aether. His future was promising.

At only 11 winters of age, a monstrous blizzard separated Kiht’a from the rest of his beloved tribe…

Mister: A Blue Beginning

At 23 winters old, Mister’s entire recollection of his life has been the act of entertainment–the thrill of thunderous applause. He’s been with his blue mage circus troupe, Circo Piccolamorte, for as long as he can remember–and will continue to remain there in the future, dressing up in beautifully-woven flamboyant outfits and putting on a wonderful show.

That is, at least, what Mister has been told to say by his mistress and wife, the ringmaster of the circus–the stern and esteemed Madame Syntlona. Mister vividly remembers his childhood with the Levin clan, but as instructed, tries not to think about it too much. He loves magic, and blue magic has a certain flare to it that really makes audience both smile and gawp in awe.

Developing a deep bond with his fellow troupe-mates, Mister feels responsible for the children in the circus, and loves caring for them, entertaining them with his made-up stories and hilarious jokes. He proudly passes on his knowledge of blue magicks to the children, teaching them the most dazzling spells he can muster.

Angel: Life Unwoven

After a haunting and emotionally rapturous series of events, Angel, against his instinctive wishes, flees from Circo Piccolamorte following the troupe’s sudden and violent disbandment. He manages to escape with his beloved troupe-mates Sugarcrisp and Randall.

Utterly lost, confused, and broken Angel finds himself in the welcoming arms of yet another circus–a better circus, he’s told–Cirque d’Eventide. The troupe is a night circus consisting of a disjointed group of Keepers, Duskwights, and a variety of other people.
