Everyone’s still working so hard. I’m the only one who’s crying… that wouldn’t be romantic at all, would it?

I have been ridiculously busy this past month with writing exchanges. Here are my belated thoughts on the Honkai: Star Rail version 3.7 Trailblaze Mission. I’ve had more time to reflect, I suppose, since I finished it a while ago.

Before getting into spoilers, I ended up pulling both Hyacine and her light cone! She’s very powerful and fun to use. It’s always funny watching her yeet that unicorn into the stratosphere. Unfortunately, I lost my 50/50 for Cyrene and am not really interested in anyone in the next version, so I will stockpile my jades for Stonehearts.

Memories as life

Watching Cyrene nurturing the demiurge by sharing bits of herself with omega-me13, who then grows to become “human” was very sweet.

As someone who posts fiction online, occasionally writes blog posts, it really resonated with me. But even beyond that, I am someone who meticulously documents many aspects of my own life onto digitized notes. I treat said notes with quite a bit of care, and in a sense, they are a ‘second me’ filled with my memories and life experiences quite similar to Cyrene and the demiurge.

Also, the demiurge turning into how Cyrene imagines how she will look as a grown up is so cute and sweet. Her dress gives strong child-like, whimsical, fairy princess vibes to me.

Amphoreus overstays its welcome

I didn’t dislike this patch, which is a sentiment that I’ve seen frequently online. But I thought that it dragged on for too long. There were way too many moments of “gather up all of the Chrysos Heirs and have them say a cool line”. It was just ridiculous at a certain point.

In the end, I completely lost my mind with hype when Kafka, Sparkle, and Boothill were on screen. There have been so many patches of Chrysos Heirs that it felt refreshing to see them again. I like the Chrysos Heirs, but man…

…Herta

Madam Herta is a peerless gem! Madam Herta is an unrivaled genius! Madam Herta is an inimitable beauty!

Herta and Screwllum’s arms must hurt from all the carrying they did this patch. Especially Herta. Every scene with the geniuses was fascinating to me.

Lygus’s final speech with Screwllum was so chilling, and such a perfect ending for a very cool villain.

More random thoughts

  • Witnessing the actual moment when Dan Heng finds the Trailblazer not breathing gave me psychic damage. Poor Dan Heng!
  • The final showdown with Irontomb was a stunning spectacle. Very cool! I loved the music and visuals.
  • Currency Wars is great. I’ve been having a lot of fun with it. I really hope that some of the character improvements make it into the “real” game, too.
