I’ve always been aware of fan fiction exchanges happening, but was too intimidated to try them out for myself. With some excellent advice from some coworkers, I ended up joining a bunch of them. I got a little over-zealous and ended up with some very tight deadlines.

• …Starting with the HoYoverse Exchange 2025. Being such a massive fan of this small-ish fandom and wanting to get the “full fandom exchange experience”, my goal was to complete both my assignment AND a gift work for another participant. I completed both goals and had a lot of fun doing so. The works are set to be published on December 7 and revealed a week later. I’m very excited!
• The Rairpair Exchange 2025! I filled a pinch hit for this exchange, The Lady of Phaerae. Re-visiting that fandom after over 15 years felt so nostalgic, and the assignee loved the work.
• When I saw sign ups open for Seasons of Drabbles Fall Round 2025, I couldn’t resist. Short fiction is my specialty, and I love writing drabbles! I published Re: Do we really need a consultant for this? for my exchange partner. We ended up being assigned to each other for the same pairing!
• In the middle of all of this madness, a day after the HoYoverse Exchange 2025 deadline, I somehow managed to publish Even Hounds Learn to Howl for my partner’s birthday.
• I am working hard on my top secret Yuletide 2025 assignment. The biggest fandom exchange of all. I can’t share any details yet. Works are due on December 17. And by working on it, I mean “there’s a lot research and half of an outline” and “I need to recover from how much writing I published in November”.

Raid

My Final Fantasy XIV raid group just finished The Epic of Alexander (Ultimate) for a few members who hadn’t done it yet.

I’ve progged TEA from start to finish three times now with various groups. It’s a very fun fight. The skill difference between how I played when I first cleared it in 2022 to now is astronomical, so I’m feeling good about that.

The raid group is currently trailing a new healer to fill in our last spot. And then we will be blasting through the new raid tier when it comes out in January.
